It’s been awhile since I’ve shared pre-wedding pictures here as I’ve been a bit busier recently. But today I’d like to share with you all the pre-wedding shoot I’ve done with Kara and Colin.
After discussing with the couple and understanding what they were looking for in their pre-wedding photos, I learned that Kara has an appreciation for the older streets and architecture in Hong Kong. That’s why we went to places such as Central and Sheung Wan to capture the colonial architecture and environment. Kara also had a special request – she wanted to have trams incorporated in the shoot. As I was concerned that having a photo shoot on a tram may not be the most ideal with its crowded space, we decided to use the trams in Sheung Wan as a backdrop for their photos. As we went there during sunset, the photos really captured the warm and romantic ambience while preserving the flavour of local Hong Kong. As the couple also wished to capture the view of the beautiful Victoria Harbour during sunset, we also took some pictures on the Star Ferry from Central to Tsim Sha Tsui.
I actually really enjoy this type of photo shoots where there is no need for a fixed location. As we have agreed on the direction and I understand what elements they were looking for in their photos, we could just wander around and take pictures whenever we find a special or meaningful spot. Sometimes, locations that we pass by every day, such as on public transport or on the streets of Hong Kong, can really bring out a unique vibe in the photos. The whole process is also more fun and relaxing as if they are travelling around Hong Kong and taking photos along the way. This way, it would be easier for the couple to get into the mood and also be more involved in the process. In the end, the photos really fit in with the theme they were looking for, and I’m glad that Kara and Colin are satisfied with the final product!
