It has once been thought that all a photographer needs to do his job well are his camera and lenses. Yet, many people seem to neglect the importance of how one carries these equipments.
Recently, I’ve had the chance to try the camera holsters by an American company, HoldFast, which specializes in camera straps for professional photographers. When I first touched the material, it felt soft with a nice touch to it, as it was handmade with real leather. I also found it very comfortable to carry, especially because the straps could be adjusted to suit different sizes. It also balances out the weight of the cameras which makes it very comfortable, unlike traditional camera straps hung from the neck or shoulder that puts unwanted pressure on the body.
One of my favourite things about it is that it can carry two cameras at once, which is very handy especially to wedding photographers, as we need to easily and quickly pick up our cameras to capture candid moments. Not only does this make the job more convenient, another additional bonus is that it also looks incredibly cool and smart once on, which conveys the image of professional photographer who knows what he’s doing. This is definitely a good choice for photographers like me, and I don’t think I will ever look back upon the days when traditional camera straps were the only way to go.
