A great perk of photographing weddings is the opportunity to explore different venues.
For this action-packed wedding that I photographed back in 2018, I traveled to three fantastic locations in Hong Kong.
The first was the Peninsula Hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui. First opening its doors in 1928, it is the city’s oldest hotel still in operation. For a special occasion, it’s no wonder that the bride and groom chose an establishment with such a rich history to get ready for their first big event of the day – the chinese tea ceremony.
After the tea ceremony, where the bride and groom paid their respects to their relatives, we headed to the Verandah Restaurant in Repulse Bay for the couple’s lunch reception. The restaurant had a lovely outdoor terrace space that was decorated with some personal touches. I particularly enjoyed the table they dressed up with the couple’s photos as well as the flower arches that made great backdrops for photos. The floral detailing on the bride’s dress complemented the decor perfectly. With floor-to-ceiling windows, the restaurant itself had a bright and comforting atmosphere for guests to enjoy their delicious meals in celebration.
Finally, Carmen & Ben’s wedding ceremony took place at Rosary Church, a gothic-style church inspired by the Roman Basilica. Leading the way, the bridesmaids and groomsmen walked side-by-side under the large white bell that hung above the church door and guided the couple to the altar. In such a majestic space, it was a lovely experience to witness the couple’s grand love for each other.
