Gaining the couple’s recognition and trust is the first step towards being booked as their photographer, and I am grateful that many couples have placed their faith in me to capture the most important day of their lives. Betsy and Henry live and work in London, but decided to hold their wedding in Hong Kong where their families reside. Therefore, we never met face-to-face and only communicated through emails, which may be difficult for them to decide whether I am the right man for the job. In the end, they placed 100% trust in me and booked me for the job, which I am greatly flattered and glad about.
As a wedding photographer, I’ve always believed that the bride is the focal point of every wedding, and I always remind myself to look through the lens from the bride’s point of view and capture moments that are the most important to her. Although every wedding is composed of different elements that are all worthy of capturing, the bride is involved in almost every aspect of the ceremony – from the location, to the dresses and the settings. Thus, it is important for wedding photographer to take pictures from the bride’s perspective and achieve what the bride would expect and hope for, so that the final pictures will be the most touching, most beautiful and most memorable.

This picture may not be special to some people, but I found this moment especially memorable as Betsy’s mother noticed that her daughter’s dress was not straightened out properly, and decided to fix it herself. This is special because normally, this is done by the bridesmaids. This truly shows the close and loving relationship between the bride and her mother, even though they do not live together. I am glad to have been able to capture this rare and beautiful moment!
