One of the best things about being a wedding photographer is the opportunity to experience and photograph weddings of different cultures and traditions. I have recently completed the photography for a Pakistani wedding, and it was truly a new experience! As Assad, the groom, is from Pakistan, the wedding adopted the traditional Pakistani ceremony. One of the most special traditions is that the bride will have henna drawn on her body, and Carol actually spent half a day to get hers done before the wedding day! It was truly worth the time and effort, because from the pictures, the henna came out vibrant and beautiful. It definitely adds a special touch to the lovely pictures!
Since most Pakistanis are Muslim, Assad and Carol’s wedding was held at a mosque. This is certainly different from the Chinese weddings that we have all attended at churches or the wedding registry, and it is quite an eye-opener! I am grateful and excited for this rare opportunity to participate in a wedding of foreign culture and to be able to experience new traditions.
Now, let’s take a look at the pictures!
